Reviewhound is a website dedicated to publishing reviews for local Perth businesses. We provide a free service for people to share their experiences with employing local businesses whether they be good or bad. It also allows business owners the opportunity to promote their company, upload pictures of their work and describe what they can and can't do.
How much does Reviewhound cost?
Nothing, zero, zilch, nada, FREE. You wouldn’t have to pay your friend to ask who she used to repaint the house, so why should you pay us?
Reviewhound is free and very simple to use.
For Readers & Reviewers
If you want to search for local businesses, read or write a review just register here. Simply activate your account and log in for the first time via your registration email. Once you have your username and password you’re free to search, read and write about your experiences with businesses in your area.
For Business Owners
If you have a Perth-based business and would like your own profile on Reviewhound register here. You can provide details about your business, upload images of your work and tell your customers that they can review your business on Reviewhound. We have further details for Business Owners here.

Can a business pay to be reviewed?
NO WAY - businesses only appear on Reviewhound after real customers submit their review for the business. Businesses can't remove bad or negative reviews but they can respond to reviews should they wish to clarify or confirm a reviewer's comments. Reviewhound is designed to provide a transparent forum of reviews for local Perth businesses and this means good AND bad reviews.
No – not quite. Reviewhound was launched in early 2012 as a website dedicated to helping people in Perth choose the very best local businesses to employ. Whether you are looking for a lawnmower contractor, dentist or a hairdresser, Reviewhound is here to help - free of charge.
In the near future we will be offering the best businesses the opportunity to advertise on the website. We expect to offer advertising features in late 2012. Only businesses with outstanding reviews will be eligible for advertising as we feel that great customer service deserves that extra ‘shout out’ to the local community.
Are the reviews from real people?
Yes - we regularly scrutinise all reviews on our website to ensure reviews are from real people. Users are not allowed to post more than one review for any business within a six month period and we retain the right to investigate, contact and if necessary remove any reviews we feel falsely represent any business. Businesses aren’t allowed to review their own services and employees, family members and associates can’t review related companies.

Does Reviewhound change or modify reviews?
No, most of the time each review appears as it is submitted. However, if content is deemed biased, fraudulent, offensive or defamatory we will contact the reviewer and retain the right to remove the review from the website. Reviewhound is built around real people providing unbiased reviews for local Perth businesses so let’s keep it that way! The original reviewer can also request to remove or update the review if subsequent action has taken place in respect of the work performed.
We are small family-owned business located in Perth. We have launched Reviewhound so everyone can share their good (and not so good) experiences with businesses they have used.

I want to review a business that isn’t already listed?
That’s fine – many businesses won’t be listed as we have only just launched the website. You can enter a first time review for an unlisted business here and click on the link at number 3. Then just add your review as normal.
If you have the chance you may want to contact the business owner to let them know you’ve reviewed their business so that they can add extra information to their Reviewhound business profile.
Do I have to register to write a review?
Yes – it takes 30 seconds to register your details with Reviewhound and start reviewing. Don’t worry we won’t spam you or sell your personal information to third parties.
We need basic details for all reviewers in case we need to contact you about your review. We also require reviewers to be registered to protect against fraudulent reviews and bogus users.
How do I search for a business?
Click here and start typing the business name or category in the search bar. If search results don’t show the business you are looking you can search by category or refine your search criteria. There is a chance a specific business you are looking for isn’t listed on the website so if you have used the business and want to review it for the first time click here.
If you think we have missed a category on the website please contact us.
Reviewhound works on a 5 star rating basis. Key characteristics for reviews include timeliness, expertise, value for money, professionalism and work quality. Businesses then get an overall rating based on a customer’s total assessment of their experience.
Do my reviews have to be positive?
No – your reviews must be honest and truthful, reflecting your experience with the business you are reviewing. Base your review on what you would want to read about if you were looking for a local business. Explain all the good (and not-so-good) points with a description of the services you were looking for and how well the job was completed. Use the 5 start rating to assess all key elements of the business and upload any relevant images if you feel they add to the quality of the review.
How often can I review the same business?
A maximum of once every 6 months. This is to ensure reviews are provided by a broad range of users and ratings aren’t influenced by a single user submitting multiple reviews. Business owners also maintain the right to respond to individual reviews should they wish to comment or follow up on their customers' comments.

Why should I register my business on Reviewhound?
Perth is a relatively small place and word travels fast. Reviewhound offers ALL businesses in Perth the opportunity to promote their business for free, upload images of their work and describe what they do and don’t do for customers.
Reviewhound is a small, independent family-owned business committed to providing great businesses the free kick they deserve. We are not aligned to any large corporate group or advertising agency and we don’t modify or bias genuine reviews ever.

I own a business which has been reviewed what can I do?
Just get in contact with us here and we’ll add you as the business owner. You can then add extra details about your business, upload images of your work and enjoy the benefits of free marketing via Reviewhound. You can also tell your other customers about your listing so they too can add reviews on the website.
Yes – we offer the opportunity to reply to individual reviews submitted for your business. You can access the reply function via your account on Reviewhound but you must be the registered business owner in order to post a reply.
If you feel a review has been posted which is incorrect or unfairly describes the services you have provided get in contact with us here. We retain the right to investigate all reviews to ensure compliance with our Review Guidelines.
What can I do if a bad review is posted about my business?
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and reviews won’t always be good. If a customer is taking the time to explain their dilemma it provides an opportunity for you to respond via Reviewhound and find a solution with your customer. Word of mouth is very powerful and it's better to find a workable solution in the case of an unsatisfied customer.
Remember other Reviewhound users will be able to read all reviews and responses – a lot of goodwill can be generated in showing your business cares about its customers.
We suggest that if your business has received a poor review and you post a response which offers to find a solution which is agreeable for all parties (within reason) your business will come out in front almost every time.
Reviewers have the ability to submit updates to their reviews and future users who see a business that genuinely cares about its customers will benefit enormously.
